Ubiquiti Networks RAD-RD3 is a protective radome or Radar dome that is available as an optional accessory for RD-5G34 (sold separately). The RocketDish RD-5G34 offers 34 dBi of gain in a 1050-mm diameter size. The RAD-RD3 provides the various advantages to this particular RocketDish. Though RocketDish RD-5G34 has the wind survivability of up to 200 km/h (125 mph), this radome reduces wind load a little more. It protects the antenna's surfaces from nature's harshest elements such as fog, wind, rain and varying temperatures too.
It can also improve antenna performance since high winds can distort the shape and pointing direction of the reflector. The radome also serves as a concealer for the antenna feed equipment from public view. Since the antenna is protected with the radome, maintenance costs are held to a minimum.It is easy to install as it can be attached directly to the dish.
